Hostel Policy and Terms Of Service

Welcome to Friends Hostel Phuket! We aim to ensure a pleasant and secure stay for all our guests. Please review our policies and terms of service carefully, as they apply to all bookings and stays.

Understanding our Terms of Service is essential before booking.

Reporting of Guest Information

In compliance with Thai law, all international guests’ information must be reported to Thai Immigration. This is mandatory and part of the legal requirements for accommodations in Thailand.

Cancellation Policy

Our cancellation terms of service are as follows:

  • Direct Bookings via Hostel Website: Guests can cancel their booking up to 1 day prior to the arrival date for a full refund. Non-refundable bookings are non-refundable under any circumstances, regardless of when the cancellation request is made. These discounted rates are offered to provide lower prices to our guests.
  • Travel Insurance Recommendation: We strongly recommend all travelers obtain travel insurance before their trip.
  • OTA Platform Bookings: Cancellation policies for reservations made through Online Travel Agencies (OTAs) will follow the OTA’s terms of service at the time of booking.

Security Deposit

  • A refundable security deposit is required at check-in. This deposit will be refunded upon departure, provided there is no damage to the property, loss of keys, or other incidents resulting in costs or opportunity loss for the hostel.
  • Security deposit will be returned to the customer the same way it was collected. Deposit is collected via credit card amount hold, meaning the deposit amount will be placed on hold for the period of guest stay and the hold will be released automatically after 5-7 business days after check-out given no damages are caused by the guest (If collected in cash, it will be returned in cash, not via wire transfer.
  • Guests should inform reception of their departure plan to allow time for the room/bed to be checked before departure and for the deposit to be returned.
  • If no cash is available, a valid form of ID will be held until check-out.

Guest Agreement

All guests are required to sign a Guest Agreement upon check-in. This agreement outlines:

  • Hostel rules.
  • Potential charges for damages.
  • Late check-out fees.

Reservation Rights

The property reserves the right to reject any guest reservation to ensure all guests and staff’s safety, comfort, and well-being. Additionally, guests who have caused tangible or intangible damages to the property or its reputation, including but not limited to posting false or misleading negative reviews, may be denied future reservations. This policy is in place to maintain a safe and respectful environment for all.

Check-In and Check-Out

  • Standard Check-In: Begins at 2:00 PM.
  • Early Check-In: Available for an additional fee.
  • Late Check-In: Guests arriving after standard check-in hours can utilize our self-check-in process. A copy of the guest’s passport and signed Guest Agreement are required in advance.
  • Standard Check-Out: By 12:00 PM.
  • Late Check-Out:
    • Subject to availability.
    • If approved, a fee will apply up to 5:00 PM. After 5:00 PM, an additional night’s stay will be charged per hour.
    • Unauthorized late check-outs after 5:00 PM will incur charges for an additional night.

Smoking Policy

Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the premises. Designated smoking areas are available on the rooftop. Non-compliance will result in a fine.

Prohibited Items

Drugs, Weapons, Durian and Mangosteen are strictly prohibited inside the premises. Violations will incur a fine.

Visitors Policy

Visitors who are not registered should report to the reception before entering the accommodation area. Non-compliance will result in a fine.

House Rules

Guests should comply with the house rules and room etiquette at all times. Non-compliance may result in fines.

Behavior Policy

We take inappropriate, abusive, or threatening behavior seriously and will respond firmly to ensure the comfort and security of all guests.

Updates to Policies

We may update our terms of service periodically to reflect changes in our operations or legal requirements. Any changes will be communicated promptly by updating this document with a revised “Last updated” date.
